Project Title: The Effectiveness and Profitability of Correcting Compaction under a Zero Till System Vs a Higher Till System
Group Name: ABC Group
This project seeks to
- Compare the agronomic and environmental aspects and ultimately the profitability of two alternative management techniques to overcome compaction.
- Demonstrate the effectiveness of ameliorants applied to the surface in a zero till system in busting compaction and improving soil structure.
- Provide options to reduce the cost of farming.
- Gain a better understanding of how these different management techniques impact on water quality leaving the paddock.
- Give growers confidence that moving toward a Zero Till Farming System will not have a negative impact on their productivity or, more importantly, profitability.
